Diablo 4’s new Spiritborn class – Everything confirmed and what’s still a mystery

The new Spiritborn class is coming soon!

Spiritborn is the new class coming to Diablo 4 in the game’s first expansion, Vessel of Hatred, which is set to released on Tuesday, Oct. 8. Here’s everything we know about the class so far, as well as what’s still speculation, leaks, and rumors.

Unfortunately, there isn’t a whole lot confirmed about the Spiritborn class. However, Blizzard is releasing a Spiritborn Class Reveal on July 18, where the team will show a more in-depth look into this class. So, we’ll have more details then.

In the meantime, datamined information about the Spiritborn class is available. However, this could change when more official information is revealed on July 18.

All rumors and speculations about Spiritborn in Diablo 4

The most widespread rumor online since BlizzCon 2023 is the new class is called Spiritborn and uses glaives to deal both physical and elemental damage, functioning as a dual-stance fighter. All info about it comes from a thread in an MMO forum where an alleged leaker described the new class one month before Blizzard mentioned it at BlizzCon. Even the promo image for Spiritborn shows the class using a glaive.

This leaker gained credibility by accurately predicting the new expansion would take place in Nahantu, which was then confirmed when Blizzard revealed Vessel of Hatred.

Also, based on the post-launch classes in Diablo 3, we can expect the new class in Diablo 4 to be locked behind the Vessel of Hatred expansion, meaning you’ll likely need to purchase the expansion to play as the new class. This aligns with how Blizzard typically releases new classes into the long-running franchise.

An extensive amount of information has been datamined already too. While this information may differ from the live release, dataminers were able to determine that its primary resource is called Vigor; some of its abilities are natured-themed and called Bat Swarm, Soar, Sky Control, Thorn, Soil, and Armor Split, Soil off Pestilence, and more.

So, everything we know about the Spiritborn class so far includes:

  • It uses glaives and can shift between physical and elemental attacks.
  • It will be locked behind the Vessel of Hatred.
  • Vigor is its primary resource.
  • Its abilities include Bat Swarm, Soar, Sky Control, Thorn, Soil, and Armor Split.
  • Abilities have a nature-heavy focus.

While we won’t know how accurate these leaks are until July 18, it seems Spiritborn will be an exciting class to play in Diablo 4’s Vessel of Hatred expansion.
